Thank you for your interest in joining the volunteer team for the 10th annual Steamboat Wine Festival. Part of the Festival's mission is to promote and develop an awareness and appreciation for food and wine, all the while raising funds for a great non-profit beneficiary. You can help us complete our mission by volunteering for one or more shifts during the event.
Five percent of all ticket sales and all proceeds from Thursday night’s Wine on the Mountain Kickoff blind auction will benefit STARS (Steamboat Adaptive Recreational Sports). STARS was founded in 2006 and provides recreational opportunities for people with disabilities, resulting in empowering and enriching the quality of life for its participants.
Types of Shifts

These volunteers will work as a team to get the event facility wine-ready, performing duties including, but not limited to: popping tents; setting up tables and chairs; moving wine into place; setting up merchandise, wine glasses and ticket stations; hanging banners and signs; moving ice and placing trash cans. Please let us know in advance if you have any physical limitations. This role can be fairly physical, however we do have duties that are less demanding. Recommended clothing: your official volunteer shirt; pants or shorts in which you can get messy; supportive shoes; and work/gardening gloves.
These volunteers will work to keep the wine event running smoothly. Roles include, but are not limited to: welcoming and directing patrons; checking IDs; assisting with will-call; taking tickets at the gate; distributing programs and glasses; and selling merchandise. Volunteers will also assist wine representatives in keeping tables clean, dumping spit buckets, emptying trash, replenishing ice, and breaking down tables, tents, and chairs. Recommended clothing: your official volunteer shirt; nice pants or shorts; and comfortable shoes as you will most likely be standing for an extended period of time.
These volunteers will work with Festival staff to set and turn rooms for classroom-style seminars. Roles include: assisting speakers in distributing materials; pouring wine; cleaning glassware; taking tickets; and greeting patrons. Shift hours vary for this role on Friday and Saturday, and a shift may be up to 6 hours in length.
*Volunteers receive a ticket to either the Friday or Saturday Grand Tasting as well as a Festival Volunteer T-shirt. We need 100+ volunteers to assist throughout the weekend.
